Apollo Lite was released early this year, and the goal was to let people enjoy the fantastic visuals of Apollo shaders without having to pay the Patreon pledge, but it doesn't include the ray tracing, which is why it's free in the first place.
Apollo Lite offers a much smoother experience when it comes to performance thanks to its lack of Ray tracing addition, and it's not short of any visual effect that Apollo RT has. But I cannot overlook the bugs I've noticed while playing this shader, you'll witness some nasty ghosting, especially for the mobs, but if you're a person who wouldn't play with shaders all the time and only uses them for aesthetic screenshots or cinematics work, then this is the one for you.
To download Apollo Lite shader, you'll have to join Apollo's Discord server and see a direct link to it.
Tips to make this shader look fantastic:
- Don't look directly to the sun when it's sunset; look to the clouds on the opposite side of the ones on the side; this would generate a great screenshot with a seamless orange tint.
- Maximize the settings up to High preset
- Try taking screenshots in these time codes: /time set day | /time set 12000 | /time set 12600 | /time set 500
- Mix it with a realistic texture pack; the most advisable is Patrix 64x; although the shader doesn't feature ray tracing, it still has the Pom&Pbr feature, which offers pleasing visuals in combined Patrix.
- Try going deep down to the lush caves; they're glowing with this shader and look phenomenal with Apollo Lite shader on.
- Try to go to the ocean and turn down the render distance to 8; from there, execute this command: /time set 12600; this way, you'll see a heavenly view; just make sure you're on the side of the sun.
