Westera 2.0 is a new texture pack that got a good amount of patrons although for some reason I didn't hear about it up until now which shows just how ignorant I am, The resource truly held my breath and gave a different vibe than that on other packs, the reason for that is easily observed as you guys can see, it's not a regular photorealistic texture pack. the style adapted by the author is something otherwordly and I honestly appreciate the details on this pack, they tend to interact with light and illuminations in a very realistic and practical way, what a magnificent POM!
in addition to that, the pack is not that demanding at all, with my mid-range gear I managed to run the highest resolution of it (512x)just fine, in opposed to other textures that crush your PC even on lower resolutions like patrix and aBTV, but it also comes to back to the fact that this pack is still incompleted and doesn't have connected textures yet, let's just hope the performance on this pack stays the same after the completion of the textures, the author told me that the texture pack looks the best in combined with Kappa 4.1 shaders but you can try other shaders it won't mess up everything after all. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of you liked this pack by now and wonder how they can get it, well just to state the obvious, my friend, the pack is partially paid, the higher the price, but if you can't make it online payments or are just not sure about the price you can always try
the 2 free versions the author has provided us, the 32x and the 64x, don't look as detailed as the high resolutions but they're fantastically better than the high resolutions when it comes to performance and is a lot more suitable for survival gameplay.
This pack is a ray-tracing texture so you should try with KAPPA 4.1, it's free so all you're gonna have to pay for is Westera alone, here's a tutorial of how you can run Resource Packs on Minecraft:
- Open Minecraft
- Click on the resource packs tab, then click on the "open resource packs folder"
- copy paste your pack there
- go back to Minecraft
- Click the resource packs tab then select the texture pack you want
- Enjoy!
