I went inside the well and started digging but i run out of breath and die before i get to anything... how do i find the stronghold

Dude thank you for the amazing seed I love it! its so cool! oh and buy the way I went and put a nether portal in the strong hold and found a huge nether fortress so I thought you would like to know that. Okay peace out ?????
