Explorer’s compass is a good mod that adds this amazing item; it will help you locate any biome or structure nearby you. However, this can take away from your exploration experience, so don’t install if you’re especially strict about browsing the world around you.

How to install it?

Open the Minecraft launcher and select the version corresponding to your downloaded mod.

Click on the "Mods" button at the top of the launcher window.

Click on the "Open Mods Folder" button. This will open the mods folder where you can install the mod.
